1. What is a 'Shipping Saver' product?
Shipping Saver Products
SHIPPING IS FREE WORLDWIDE for orders over 40 GBP for all music CDs (with only a few exeptions on heavier items). Check the product description for the current amount. We still use the quickest postal service for free delivery orders - Airmail and 1st class post (unlike certain other sites we won't mention!)
A 'shipping saver product' is a product eligible for free shipping. All music CDs are eligible plus a few of the lighter media products. If you order a mixture of 'Shipping Saver' and Non-Shipping Saver products, and your order is over the 40 GBP limit then the weights of the shipping saver products are not counted. For example if you order 5 music CDs and a pack of CDRs then you only pay shipping based on the weight of the CDRs.Your shipping region is guessed from your IP address. If incorrect you can login to set the region manually.
2. What credit cards do you take?
We take all major credit and debit cards including AMEX. The full list is Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Visa Debit, Visa Electron, Solo, and Maestro (Switch).
PAYPAL Payments: Please send to this address: form1@ambient-music.com and add 3% to the payment to cover PAYPAL fees. Downloads can only be paid for by credit or debit cards.
3. Are my credit card details safe? Do you see my card details?
We use the highest grade encryption to protect ALL your details including your credit card details and customer details. We take security and privacy very seriously. Your credit card details are not stored on our server - in fact we NEVER see them. They are passed immediately to the bank for processing.
4. Can I send a cheque (check)?
Yes. Please make all cheques payable to 'FARFIELD'. Please be aware that orders by cheque take significantly longer to process as we must wait for cheques to clear.
5. Do I get an order confirmation?
Yes. Immediately upon placing your order successfully, an email will be sent to your specified address (if you have a spam filter make sure the domain shopsonic.com is allowed to pass). You will also receive a personal email to tell you that your order has been dispatched.
6. Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
Yes you can. If you return your CDs within 7 days of receipt in their original packaging then we will refund your payment. We regret we are unable to refund CDs where the plastic packaging has been opened. Simply send the CDs back with a note to say 'contract cancellation' and we will do the rest!
All UK companies are overseen by Her Majesty's Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). This means we comply with their laws for selling goods via the internet: We offer refunds, display prices clearly and display information on how long various prices and offers are valid for. We offer a 7 day refund for un-opened CDs.
Furthermore, we want you to enjoy the shopping process as much as the music. We hope that if we provide a rapid, efficient service you will tell your friends about us and visit us again in the future.
7. How quickly will I receive my CDs?
In most cases all CDs are held in stock. Each product has an up to date stock level and shipping date estimation. If a CD is out of stock you can still order and the shopping cart will give you an estimated dispatch date. We process orders within 24 hours. Most are sent out the same day as they are ordered. UK orders are normally received within 1 to 2 days of order. European orders within 3 to 4 days and USA / Rest of the world within 5 to 7 days.
8. What will appear on my credit card statement?
Your card will be billed as 'ambient music'
9. Are my personal details secure? What is your privacy policy?
Yes. We only use your details in order to complete and confirm the order. We NEVER pass on your details to any other companies. We also only ever process your details via a secure SSL encrypted channel, meaning that your customer details are never sent over the web by email (your order confirmation does not mention your name and address). We feel this is the most secure way possible.
10. How long have you been trading?
FARFIELD Records was set up in 1998.
VAT on orders including downloads is applicable to EU member states. Outside the EU you will not be charged VAT. Prices displayed are exclusive of VAT.

Here are the key points about downloadable albums
a) All downloads are sold as complete CDs in a zip file. The zip file contains either 192kbps MP3 format or the higest possible MP3 VBR files, depending on which sounds best for a particular album.
b) Fully iPod compatible and with most other players. Will play on anything that can accept MP3 in variable bit rate.
c) You have 7 days to download your albums after purchase.
d) Albums have no restrictions (DRM) so you can make any number of CD copies. We ask that you respect the copyright of the artists and not make any copies for anything other than personal use.
e) CDs and downloads may be mixed in the same shopping cart. We will post your CDs but your downloads will be immediately available!*
f) If your downloads are not immediately available after purchase it means that we couldn't check your credit card information automatically and it has gone for a manual check, you will receive an email when your downloads are available. Until then your downloads box will show 'x pending downloads'. Using the same card again in the future will grant you instant access.
